Learn the basics of writing and publishing children’s books. Explore what works in children’s books and what doesn’t, and come away with the inspiration and resources to take the next step.
Presented by Jacquie Pearce for the Royal City Literary Arts Society RCLAS and co-sponsored by the New West New Westminster Public Library.
Jacqueline Pearce writes contemporary and historical fiction for children and teens, as well as poetry, short fiction and short non-fiction. Her published works include Weeds and Other Stories (Thistledown 2003), and most recently, Siege (Orca 2014), a novel for ages 10-14, and two short non-fiction stories in Chicken Soup for the Soul: the Dog Did What? (Chicken Soup for the Soul Publications, 2014). Her haiku have been featured in a variety of publications, including Frogpond, The Heron’s Nest, Haiku Canada Review, and Daily Haiku. Jacquie grew up on Vancouver Island and has degrees in English Literature and Environmental Studies. http://jacquelinepearce.ca/
